Description

A long time ago when I was a guest artiste at the Wick Accordion & Fiddle Club, while having sandwiches and coffee in the back room, I overheard music obviously coming from the stage. I said to Addie Harper (Snr),'Who is that playing out there?' He said 'go and have a look.' I put my head around the curtain and here was a wee laddie wearing short trousers belting out the Jaqueline Waltz. I remember to this day my words to Addie. They were 'that wee guy is going to make it to the very top.' My prediction has been proved spot on. For pure traditional Scottish dance music, Daniel with his button accordion, in my view, is at the top of the tree. In my own words of long ago, he has made it to the top. Fantastic.
